▸ her quiet mouth deceives those who are unfamiliar with this particularly volatile girl. though her temper is rarely unleashed, it's not hard to get under her skin and make her swear like a sailor. her fists are always ready for a fight, though her mind rarely allows her to do so. she thinks more than she acts, as her distrustful nature sometimes evolves into paranoia of those around her. she's careful to keep distance at all times, physically and emotionally.

▸ she's not as broken as you think she is. she's a quiet girl with the mouth of a sailor when irritated, but she's not as broken as you'd think. she's strong in her mind and doesn't let people attempt to break it. she observes so she can read the signs and she works hard to keep from failing. she does what she can because it's all she can do to keep from being more broken than she wants.

▸ "balancing" hands - suzume's left hand causes pain to any living thing, while her right hand heals anything the thing has, scars to open wounds. both hands need direct contact with a body. the left hand starts pain immediately and spreads throughout the body, getting worse with time. the right hand needs to touch the specific part she wants to heal and it slowly starts to heal, speeding up with time.

if her left hand is touching a 'target' long enough, it will eventually cause the 'target' to whither away from the pain and die. while her right hand can bring back someone who teeters on the edges of life and death. hands take a lot of energy out of suzume though technically she is doing very little.

she also feels what her 'target' is feeling, but to a lesser degree when she's in contact with them. when she's causing someone pain, she feels about one third of the actual pain, while when she's healing someone she heals one sixth faster than she normally does.

▸ much to her chagrin, suzume is left-handed and she hates it with a passion. technically, she is ambidextrous because she took it upon herself to learn to do things with her right to avoid conflict, it is still her natural habit to reach out with her left hand when she's relying on instinct.

▸ suzume is well-versed in the art of jujitsu, and specializes in small-joint locking. the needles she carries around with her are mainly used for long-distance fighting. they're about six and a half inches long, and about half a centimetre in width. only a single end is sharp, while the opposite end is flat. while suzume's aim isn't perfect, a needle to the leg isn't particularly hard to pull off for her.

▸ despite being 'employed' by the government, suzume does odd-jobs around the city for a quick buck. she does almost anything, if you're willing to pay her price. she lives in a small apartment complex paid for by her rather wealthy step-father.

▸ when she was young, suzume severely hurt her mother. it was an accident that no one in her family wants to remember, but it's not easily forgotten. it was around the time her hands started to develop, and she had barely realised it. suzume and her mother were out for a walk, when she wandered a bit too far from her mother. she'd almost gotten lost and her mother requested that they hold hands, suzume agreed without hesitation.

for five minutes, they held hands before suzume's mother's pain became too much and she started to writhe on the ground. suzume kept touching her and touching her trying to figure out what was wrong and try to make the pain go away. she didn't realize it was her touch causing the pain until her father tolder later that night while her mother was resting in her bed.
