ect ▸ Lix has a theory that everything can be divided into two distinct time periods: before the mutants came, and now that everything’s messed up. Before the mutants, the world must’ve been perfect- relatively peaceful at least. Now, there are freaks of nature everywhere, leaving death in their wake.

Before the mutants, he had it made: he was double majoring in computer sciences and mathematics at this really fancy university in Tokyo, full ride. His twin, Xanther, was there too. The twins moved from an area with no mutants, so Lix had never spoken to one before, though he knew there was one at the college that Xan picked on. But Xan picked on everyone; it didn’t mean anything and Lix never thought about it.

Until his brother was found dead at the mutant’s hands. The first time Lix ever spoke to a mutant was when he stood on the witness stand, screaming at the boy and, for the first and only time in his adult life, crying. The mutant plead it was self-defense and was convicted only of manslaughter, which worked Lix into a frenzy. He read a bunch of anti-mutant articles and joined the AMA. He still maintains that his brother’s death was the mutant’s and only the mutant’s fault, that Xanther was a prankster, but he’d never let it go far enough that someone would be scared enough to kill. He’s set a stopwatch to go off as soon as his brother’s killer is released from prison so he can avenge his brother’s death. He always has his dagger with him, so when it’s time, he’ll be ready.
